Head of Warehouse Operations – Alliance Healthcare
Reporting to the Senior Business Director, Alloga UK, the Head of Warehouse Operations has overall responsibility for the management and performance of Alloga UK warehouse operations. The role ensures all operational activity is completed in a safe and efficient manner, delivering exceptional service levels and a cost‑effective operation using continuous improvement techniques.
Key Tasks
* Ensure that all direct reports adhere to Company Health & Safety policies and standards and that all accidents and near misses are reported immediately to the business.
* Ensure Company policies and procedures are up to date and adhered to in a consistent manner throughout the business.
* Evaluate and deliver comprehensive analyses of Operational KPIs, including productivity, accuracy, OTIF, volumes, capacity, and operational efficiency, to Senior Management teams.
* Evaluate budget performance across all operational areas and analyse financial reports related to warehouse costs, focusing on enhancing business functions and optimising operational processes.
* Ensure the achievement of targets and maintain overall accountability for the performance and management of Warehouse Operations.
* Work with Directors of the business to take responsibility and accountability for establishing and achieving departmental budgets, aligned with the Company’s overall budget and 3‑year strategic planning process.
* Actively participate in the development and execution of business strategies to support the achievement of financial objectives and business growth targets.
* Design and implement effective initiatives and policies that align with the company’s strategic goals and objectives.
* Utilise organisational structure to address operational challenges and issues and manage risks effectively.
* Ensure the Directors of the business are regularly updated on operational and client activities, as necessary.
* Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to reduce costs, enhance efficiencies, and elevate quality standards through process optimisation and the adoption of new technologies.
* Ensure all departmental activities are conducted in compliance with company procedures and client instructions.
* Ensure Alloga adheres to all relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
* Act as a member of the business continuity Incident Management Team and apply business continuity plans in accordance with agreed recovery strategies.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required
* Significant experience and proven track record in a multi‑site manufacturing supply chain and/or advanced 3PL environment.
* Senior Management experience.
* Educated to O/GCSE Level Standard or above.
* NVQ Level 4 or equivalent.
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a warehouse or similar environment.
* Minimum of 5 years’ client experience.
* Sound Knowledge of GDP preferred.
* Trained in all relevant SOPs within 3 months.
* Thorough knowledge of Company policies and procedures.
* Proven ability to use initiative and judgment to make difficult decisions.
* Previous experience of change management and organisational design.
* Ability to communicate at all levels.
* Strong project management skills.
* Knowledge of relevant aspects of GDP.
