Job Title: Communications & Marketing Manager
Supervisor: Deputy Director
The Communications & Marketing Manager will be responsible for communicating key messages to target audiences to establish goodwill and understanding between the West Africa Volunteers Development Initiative (WAVDI) and its partners. This involves generating positive media coverage through effective relations with broadcast, print, and new media, and monitoring publicity efforts. The role includes liaising daily with the program management team to update and report on publicity success.
Campaigns and Communications Materials: Prepare written materials for public awareness campaigns and maintain various publications to meet communication goals.
Key Tasks:
1. Identify target audiences.
2. Determine communication strategies and channels.
3. Lead online content creation to engage audiences and drive measurable actions.
4. Implement communication vehicles to build momentum and assess effectiveness.
5. Manage development, distribution, and maintenance of print and electronic collateral such as newsletters, brochures, posters, media releases, banners, and website content.
6. Coordinate website updates to ensure fresh and relevant information.
7. Maintain and grow the e-Newsletter mailing list.
8. Develop PowerPoint presentations for WAVDI projects.
Manage Social Media Pages:
1. Regularly update WAVDI Facebook, TikTok, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn with relevant content tailored for each platform.
2. Increase followers and community engagement.
Media Relations:
1. Maintain contacts with local and international media outlets.
2. Respond to media inquiries.
Events Management:
1. Assist in coordinating industry events and advise WAVDI members on event organization.
2. Support event logistics including guest lists, invitations, venues, catering, sound, speeches, and publicity.
Measure Analytics:
1. Track weekly and monthly statistics for website, newsletters, social media, community presentations, and media appearances to evaluate impact and set engagement goals.
Administration:
1. Assist with office administrative tasks.
2. Book advertisement space and maintain PR reports.
3. Record minutes of meetings and maintain contact lists for media and government.
