We are seeking a Factory/Production Manager to lead a high-end smoked salmon facility based in North Lanarkshire. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing and reputable producer supplying luxury food products to top-tier retailers and hospitality clients.
The Role
As the Factory/Production Manager, you’ll be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day running of the production facility. From ensuring smooth operations and top-tier product quality to leading your team and driving continuous improvement, your leadership will be pivotal in maintaining excellence and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Production Management
Lead daily operations of the smoked salmon production facility.
Maintain production schedules, quality standards, and safety compliance.
Adopt a hands-on approach to problem-solving and operational oversight.
Quality & Compliance
Enforce rigorous quality control and hygiene protocols.
Collaborate with QA teams to implement corrective actions where needed.
Ensure adherence to food safety and environmental regulations.
Lead, train, and develop production teams and supervisors.
Foster a positive, collaborative workplace culture.
Conduct performance reviews and support staff growth.
Identify and implement process enhancements.
Apply Lean Manufacturing and cost-saving strategies.
Cost & Performance Management
Monitor production costs and efficiency KPIs.
Prepare performance and operational reports for senior management.
What We’re Looking For
Proven experience (5+ years) in a production management role within a food manufacturing environment
Strong leadership and planning skills
Hands-on and adaptable approach
Knowledge of Lean principles and process optimisation
Excellent communication and team development skills
Experience in fish or seafood processing
Flexible start times (typically from 7am), with occasional overtime
