Overview
I am a 19 year old male who has a brain injury, epilepsy, and mental health issues. I am looking for a male companion who can support me to do the things I love within my community and to assist me to attend appointments.
Support and Responsibilities
* Provide support for approximately 4 hours a week with flexibility around when this is worked. Hours may total 16 hours every 4 weeks with advance discussion and negotiation.
* Support with social and recreational activities and accompany me to medical appointments.
* Establish a close working relationship on a one-to-one basis and discuss and resolve problems as they arise.
* Maintain daily written records and undertake duties within the scope and responsibility of the role.
* Be available for training as appropriate for the role.
* Be honest, trustworthy, reliable, and able to work well independently.
* Respect my privacy and maintain my dignity. Be non-judgemental, enthusiastic, flexible, with a caring disposition, and share similar interests where possible.
Requirements and Qualifications
* Experience of supporting people with hidden disabilities, such as epilepsy, is essential (training can be provided).
* No personal care required, though prompting to promote hygiene may be needed.
Working Arrangements and Pay
* Rate of pay: £12.60 per hour for employed Personal Assistant (PA). Self-employed rate can be negotiated.
* Post includes 5.6 weeks paid annual leave (pro-rota totaling 22.4 hours per year).
* Hours and duties may vary day-to-day and will be discussed in advance to suit both parties.

Assistants must be able to work independently, discuss needs, follow directions and requests, and maintain a supportive, respectful, and person-centred relationship with me.
