You will be responsible for managing a defined caseload of patients within stroke and neurology, providing support to dietitians in the acute medicine team. This includes performing routine dietetic reviews to ensure adherence to care plans.
You will be able to advise, under supervision from a dietitian, on nutritional interventions for symptom control and disease management.
You will assist in delivering patient and staff education programmes and supervise student dietitians.
Candidates with previous experience as a Band 3 Dietetic Assistant will be supported through your Band 4 Dietetic Assistant Practitioner competencies. Those without such experience will undertake a progression programme of competencies and learning as a Band 3 Dietetic Assistant before starting the Band 4 Assistant Practitioner role.
The Nutrition & Dietetic Department is a large, forward-thinking department across two acute hospital sites, managed in nine teams. We are recruiting a dietetic assistant practitioner to work within the medicine dietetic team.
Your responsibilities include undertaking dietetic reviews under the direction of a registered dietitian to ensure patients meet their nutritional requirements and progress towards their dietetic goals.
