If so, this is a great opportunity to play a part in influencing road safety across Great Britain, and we'd love to hear from you As the Publications Manager, youll be responsible for writing, editing and illustrating DVSAs official learning materials. Youll help people to prepare for their Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) tests and to become safe and responsible drivers and riders. Youll maintain and develop the database of theory test revision questions, case studies and associated images. And youll specify and commission high-quality and effective photography and illustration, understanding legal requirements like the General Data Protection Regulations and copyright. Youll manage a content designer, working closely with DVSAs official publisher to produce commercial products on time, within budget and to appropriate standards. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Writing and updating DVSAs official commercial learning resources, calling on personal expertise and on subject matter experts in DVSA and among its partners. Specifying and commissioning photographs and illustrations, including organisation of shoots, models, vehicles, equipment, logistics and locations. Overseeing the work of the content designer and of commissioned authors, photographers and illustrators. Person specification To succeed in this role, you have: Experience as an approved driving instructor, motorcycle or vocational trainer or driving examiner. practical and in-depth knowledge and understanding of the Highway Code, DVSA National Standards for driving and riding in Great Britain and DVSA driver/rider testing. You can: Demonstrate the ability to write in plain English, including structuring content to suit a format and audience. Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills. Focus on achieving your own objectives, while supporting and developing others in doing the same. Additional Information This role can be based in Bristol, Newcastle, Nottingham or Swansea. Your presence at one of these locations will form part of the agreed working arrangements. We operate a hybrid working model, giving you greater flexibility about where and when you work. Well expect you to spend a minimum 60% of your time at your base location. Visits to other DVSA sites or work locations count towards this.
