This exciting and well-funded robotics company is seeking a hardware design engineer to work on a wide variety of projects across their product range. They are in the midst of an ambitious expansion and are seeking a skilled engineer to fill this permanent position.
You will be joining the electronics team and work closely with their mechanical and software teams shaping their products and supporting infrastructure. You will be involved in every aspect of projects from requirements gathering and initial designs through to prototyping, manufacture and deployment. This will involve plenty of hands-on lab work as well as clean-sheet circuit design and layout. Specific robotics knowledge is not required.
Requirements:
* Strong commercial experience designing electronics for embedded systems including both analogue and digital circuitry from design and layout to prototyping and manufacture.
* Good knowledge of manufacturability. From interpreting datasheets to select suitable components to tailoring PCB designs to match supplier capabilities.
* Confidence working directly with hardware such as motors, sensors and prototype boards including soldering and debugging using standard lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analysers, etc).
* Positive can-do attitude. Happy to take on a wide variety of tasks. Quick to learn new techniques and apply them to solving problems.
They are located in a well-equipped and recently built office and laboratory complex to the south of Cambridge. Due to the nature of this role, you will be expected to be on-site full time.
This is an excellent opportunity to grow your breadth of electronics knowledge and skill. You will be working in a team of highly valued engineers in a respectful and nurturing environment where you will learn about new technologies and develop new skills. On offer alongside the salary is a strong set of benefits including generous pension contributions, an annual bonus scheme and a free employee cafeteria serving lunch and refreshments.
