GCSE Maths Outreach Tutor (QTS/PGCE Qualified) – Bromley
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Prospero Teaching is on the lookout for an inspirational GCSE Maths Outreach Tutor to work 1:1 with secondary-aged learners in the Bromley area who are currently out of mainstream education. This is your chance to deliver tailored, meaningful lessons that help bridge critical learning gaps and reignite a love for learning in students who need it most.
Each placement offers a unique and rewarding challenge – supporting pupils who may have experienced barriers to education including anxiety, SEND, or school refusal. You’ll play a vital role in re-engaging them academically and emotionally, helping to rebuild their confidence through structured, engaging sessions.
This role is perfect for experienced educators with QTS or PGCE, looking to move into a more flexible, personalised teaching environment, where you can truly make a difference. You’ll be fully supported by Prospero’s dedicated team to ensure every student thrives.
CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS
1. Location – Bromley and surrounding areas
2. Position – GCSE Maths Outreach Tutor
3. Type of Work – 1:1 tuition (in-person) with disengaged learners
4. Start Date – ASAP
5. Duration – Ongoing, tailored to individual student needs
6. Contract Type – Temporary (with consistent hours and long-term potential)
7. Hours – After-school hours (flexible), 1 to 3 hours per session
8. Rate of Pay – From £25 per hour (dependant on experience)
9. Working Pattern – Part-time or full-time available depending on your schedule
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
10. Must hold QTS, PGCE or equivalent UK-recognised teaching qualification
11. Minimum 6 months+ teaching experience in a UK school
12. Strong subject knowledge in GCSE Maths
13. Up-to-date Safeguarding training is desirable
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE, YOU MUST:
14. Hold the Right to Work in the UK
15. Have an Enhanced Child Barred List DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one)
16. Provide two recent child-related references from the last two years
