Role Overview:
Morgan Philips Specialist Recruitment is representing a world-leading professional services firm in their search for an Assistant General Counsel to join their in-house legal team. The ideal candidate is an experienced commercial lawyer with a focus on technology, data privacy, data protection, and AI. The successful candidate will provide practical, business-focused legal advice to the company's global business and corporate services teams.
Key Accountabilities:
* Provide legal support on a wide range of legal and regulatory matters for a global professional services organization.
* Advise on technology, data privacy, data protection, AI, and related matters, supporting day-to-day commercial and regulatory legal issues.
* Assist in managing the organization’s compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and network policies.
* Support Technology and Risk Management teams with legal guidance.
* Develop and implement governance, operational policies, procedures, and playbooks.
* Review and advise on new services, solutions, and related governance and regulatory issues.
* Manage external legal counsel across multiple jurisdictions efficiently and cost-effectively.
* Provide practical, risk-aware legal advice aligned with business objectives.
* Create presentations and publish articles on key legal topics.
* Mentor and support junior team members.
About You:
* UK-qualified lawyer (or equivalent outside the UK) with significant experience at a major law firm or in-house.
* Expert legal skills with the ability to handle complex legal and regulatory issues.
* Strong risk management and strategic thinking abilities.
* Proficiency in negotiating, drafting, and reviewing commercial and transaction agreements across jurisdictions.
* Ability to work independently and manage complex legal files while collaborating with global teams.
* Ability to balance legal risk management with business needs in a fast-growing environment.
* Self-motivated, adaptable, and effective in a dynamic, global setting.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
