Principal Accountant (Schools), youll play a key role in ensuring effective delivery of Service Level Agreements, helping schools maximise resources, and maintaining strong financial compliance. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and monitor annual budgets for Primary, Secondary, and Special schools Support year-end closure and production of final accounts Provide financial projections and advice to help schools manage resources effectively Conduct school visits, advising on budgets, interpreting reports, and resolving queries Maintain and reconcile the Financial Reporting System for County Primary schools Ensure compliance with VAT, Financial Regulations, and best practice guidance Assist with creditor payments, purchase orders, and accurate coding Collaborate with colleagues and provide additional financial support where required About You: Background in finance, accountancy, or school finance support Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders Knowledge of financial regulations and accounting practices Organised, detail-focused, and able to manage multiple priorities Apply now to join a supportive finance team and make a real difference in the local community.
