What You'll Do
The MetaHuman team is looking for a Principal Animator to help drive the vision for high-quality character animation. A successful candidate should have a great understanding of the fundamentals of animation and how they relate to game animation and the ability to implement animations in the Unreal Engine.
In this role, you will
* Become a stakeholder for quality results in animation using MetaHuman and Unreal Engine technology.
* Take ownership of testing and validating tools and workflows, providing feedback on animation systems such as retargeting and anim blueprints.
* Work closely with Engineering and Tech Anim to give feedback on rigs and the design of tools and pipelines.
* Work hands-on both in DCC and in Unreal Engine, animating and creating anim blueprints, graphs and test control rigs, and other systems that support feature creation and improvement.
* Provide alignment by being a point of contact to represent animation use and workflows with MetaHumans with other Epic teams and initiatives.
What We're Looking For
* Experience in both key-framing and mocap animation.
* Strong eye for both facial performance and body mechanics.
* Hands-on experience with retargeting and technical animation workflows, including anim blueprints.
* Good understanding of both realistic and stylized motion.
* Strong communication and collaboration skills.
