Candour Talent are recruiting a Trainee Prepress Designer to join their client’s team in Port Talbot.
* Employment Type: Full Time/Permanent
* Working Hours: 2-shift pattern (mornings and afternoon)
* Salary: Circa £30.5k
Our client is looking for a hard-working and self-motivated individual to join their team as a Trainee Prepress Designer with experience in a fast-moving manufacturing environment to join their team based in Port Talbot.
This role would suit a creative, organised, and enthusiastic individual, who is looking to start a long-term career. Minimal experience is required as full training will be provided. Some Design and/or print experience would be an advantage, but not essential.
The Role:
* Interpret customer-provided artwork requirements for printing process
* Communicate with customers to work towards full approval ready for production
* Maintain electronic and physical document control of artwork
* Upload/ download artwork and proofs onto multiple internal and external systems.
* Issue printing instructions to production team
* Manufacture print plates, and check condition of plates after use
* Order print plate and related materials
* Check weekly and daily production schedule
* Attend internal pre-production meetings
* Work with wider team and customers to originate samples
The Ideal Candidate:
* Good standard of education with some demonstrable design or creative flair
* IT proficiency (Mac experience preferred) with some design software, such as CAD, an advantage
* Must be able to differentiate between colours
* Excellent communication skills and able to work with internal and external stakeholders
* Experience of lithography or origination, an advantage
* Hardworking team player, with a good eye for detail
* Driven, ambitious, and looking for a long-term opportunity
