Overview
Senior Development Chef - Foodservice within Pilgrims Europe, working closely with the BU's Marketing, NPD and Commercial teams to develop new products and ranges. The role supports QSR and Food Service customers with insight-driven food concepts and platforms, contributing to the business’s journey to become a world-class food company.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate with Foodservice teams to deliver insight-driven food solutions that excite QSR and Food Service customers and meet customer and category targets and strategies.
* Manage product submissions with customers, clearly interpreting briefs, applying creativity, and aligning with current culinary trends.
* Ensure samples and submissions are high quality and on brief.
* Work with Marketing and food technologists to identify, develop and showcase new trends and innovations to influence category plans and support commercial growth.
* Support the business unit with key customer development, innovation pipeline and future food planning.
* Collaborate with UK and Europe commercial teams on product presentations to customers.
* Support customer visits with lunch menus and execution to demonstrate BU capabilities.
* Work with the Food Academy to transfer skills and knowledge to I&D colleagues, wider commercial teams and key customers where appropriate.
* Maintain effective health and safety measures and procedures in all development and culinary kitchens.
* Apply cost-saving measures to ingredients and reduce waste where possible.
* Conduct regular individual performance and personal development reviews to optimise skills development of the culinary team and drive high performance.
* Mentor the foodservice team to foster a foodie culture within the BU.
* Deliver best-in-class performance, fulfil stakeholder obligations and ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements related to environment, health and safety, ethical standards and company policies.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will hold C&G 706-1, 706-2 or NVQ equivalent, and have exceptional culinary and creative food skills, excellent communication and customer-facing skills, as well as project management experience.
