Electrical Design Engineer
Location: Letchworth Garden City
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum
Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday (8:00 AM - 4:00 PM)

A well-established company in the electrical engineering sector, with over 45 years of industry experience. Specialising in control panel design and building for the chemical, pharmaceutical, and other process industries. The company operates with a dedicated team of 15 professionals, delivering complete electrical solutions from project inception to final build.
Role Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will work on the design, development, and testing of control panels, ensuring full compliance with industry standards. This is a hands-on, client-facing role, where you will work closely with the technical team and customers, taking projects from concept to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design electrical control panels and systems, ensuring compliance with customer requirements and industry standards.
* Conduct testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of control panels.
* Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
* Provide technical expertise during site visits and ensure smooth communication with clients and internal teams.
* Produce schematic drawings and detailed electrical designs using AutoCAD (and occasionally EPlan).
* Maintain accurate project documentation, including BOMs (Bill of Materials) and system specifications.
* Ensure the timely delivery of projects and resolve any issues that arise on-site.
Key Requirements:
* Experience in electrical design, particularly control panel design.
* Site-based experience with electrical installation, testing, and commissioning.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential (experience with EPlan is a plus).
* Strong understanding of electrical systems, schematic drawings, and block diagrams.
* A degree in electrical engineering is desirable, though equivalent qualifications and experience will be considered.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients.
* Experience working within the chemical and pharmaceutical industries is highly advantageous.
Desirable Qualifications:
* Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
* HNC or HND in Electrical Engineering would also be considered
