Are you a confident and commercially driven Contract Manager/ Partnership & Engagement Manager with a passion for sustainability?
Grundon Waste Management is looking for a driven individual to take ownership of a portfolio of subcontractor and third-party accounts, helping to deliver innovative waste solutions that support our clients' environmental and sustainability goals.
In this pivotal role, youll be the face of Grundon for our broker and subcontractor partners driving growth, ensuring compliance, building strong relationships, and delivering real value. Youll also be responsible for sourcing and managing outsourced services, negotiating competitive rates, and ensuring service excellence across every touchpoint.
What You'll Be Doing:
* Manage and grow a portfolio of Subcontractor and Broker accounts, ensuring KPIs, SLAs, and profitability targets are met.
* Build relationships with clients and suppliers, upselling services, increasing account spend, and supporting long-term growth.
* Source, approve, and manage third-party suppliers for outsourced services, ensuring compliance and performance.
* Lead and support a small team, handling escalated issues, conducting performance reviews, and fostering professional development.
* Oversee account financials, including pricing schedules, accurate billing, and payment coordination with Credit Control, while ensuring timely delivery of client-specified management information (MI) and using insights to drive service improvements.
* Deliver service excellence through site visits, supplier audits, client reviews, and by proactively resolving operational or contractual issues.
* Prepare and supply quotations for new sites or services and negotiate and implement price increases in line with company policy or contractual agreements.
* Support engagement initiatives, including presentations, facility tours, audits, and awareness sessions for clients and suppliers.
* Collaborate across teams, including Operations, Sales, and Innovation, to deliver efficiencies and introduce new technologies or sustainability solutions.
* Liaise regularly with Depot and Regional Operations Managers to review service performance, identify efficiencies, and explore opportunities for service expansion.
* Conduct regular account reviews to assess pricing, service mix, value, and profitability, with a focus on increasing both turnover and margin
* Ensure compliance with health & safety, environmental regulations, and company policies, while staying current on waste management best practices.
* Any other duties, such as ad hoc projects requested by your Manager/ Board of Directors that are within the skills and capabilities as the job holder.
What youll need:
* Minimum of 3+ years experience within an account management role working within the waste management sector
* Ability to build long-term Broker relationships to grow business while efficiently managing their documentation and credentials.
* Confident communicator both in writing and in person with great presentation skills
* Comfortable analysing management data and using it to identify trends, opportunities, and improvements
* Ability to prioritise and juggle multiple priorities
* Experience within Microsoft Office Packages and databases
* Full UK driving licence and happy to travel to meet clients and suppliers throughout the UK
