Your Purpose
Provide quality and process ownership through laboratory testing, standards management and end‑to‑end yeast propagation. Act as equipment owner for laboratory and yeast systems, ensuring capability, hygiene and reliability. Coach and verify Process Technicians to OPQC and QA standards, using data, SPC and structured problem solving to prevent defects and support right‑first‑time quality in line with WCSC 2.0 principles.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct physical chemistry and microbiological testing in line with SOPs, develop, review and improve laboratory SOPs, CLs, CILs and global standards to drive defect prevention and right‑first‑time quality. Ensuring standards are kept throughout the process technician population by coaching, training and verifying all OPQC tasks within the teams.
* Own and manage laboratory and yeast propagation equipment, including full responsibility for yeast propagation from laboratory scale through to industrial propagation, ensuring capability, hygiene and consistency.
* Maintain laboratory and yeast plant equipment through planned maintenance, calibration, verification and 5S standards, acting as equipment owner and escalating reliability risks.
* Champion hygiene, safety and compliance standards (HACCP, COSHH, BRC, FEMAS), maintaining training compliance and acting immediately on deviations.
* Support and own structured problem solving using analytical data, SPC, gage R&R, IPS/UPS and root‑cause methods to investigate and eliminate quality deviations.
About You
Required skills:
* Experience in physical chemistry and microbiological testing, SOP development, data interpretation, SPC and root cause analysis; preferred experience with GC, HPLC and PCR.
Preferred education:
* MSc in Science
