Location: Blended between office and home (England and Wales). Time in office negotiable We are looking for an outstanding person to recruit for the position of Principal Policy Manager at Citizens Advice working within the Families, Welfare and Work team. We have a unique insight into emerging trends and issues affecting people, and we use it to work with government, regulators and industry to improve people's lives. As a Principle Policy Manager in the Families, Welfare and Work team you ll have the opportunity to have a real impact on people s lives. Welfare and benefits advice is by far the largest topic which our network of local offices help people with. You will oversee the team responsible for turning the unique insights which we get from our service into an ambitious research and advocacy program which looks to make meaningful changes to government policy. Welfare doesn t exist in a vacuum, it has deep links to employment, health, debt, family life and housing. You ll have the opportunity to shape at a strategic level how we explore these connections, while also working with other policy teams with a range of specialisms. You will work closely with colleagues in our data, public affairs, campaigns and media teams to maximise impact for our clients. You will work in a peer group with other managers to ensure consistency across our varied topic areas. You ll work across policy areas and support junior members of the team to reach their potential. Our strong brand will give you unique opportunities to engage with those who have the power to make change. You ll influence MPs and civil servants, regulators and industry bodies, on behalf of the people who rely on us. Proven ability to manage the development of an influential policy research programme, under a broad work theme. Exceptional written and oral influencing skills, including the judicious use of data and acute media and political judgement. Strong ability to plan, manage and allocate multiple programmes of work, manage performance and development, and support staff and volunteers as appropriate.
