Monitor Services, a reputable and growing commercial cleaning business, is seeking a skilled Payroll Administrator to manage our payroll function from our Northfleet head office.

With approximately 150 staff and a diverse range of commercial cleaning contracts, we pride ourselves on valuing our people and delivering excellence to our clients.
Our head office in Northfleet houses all back-office functions – including HR, Finance, Health & Safety, and Payroll – enabling us to maintain quality control and hands-on support.
The Role
As our Payroll Administrator, you’ll be responsible for processing three monthly payrolls (covering approx. 150 employees), ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely payment. You’ll be confident managing end-to-end payroll and dealing with all associated tasks.
Key responsibilities include:
* Operating and maintaining PegasusOpera 3 Payroll system (system training provided if needed)
* Managing all employee changes, new starters, leavers, and updates
* Inputting data from timesheets accurately
* Calculating statutory payments (SSP, SMP, etc.) and applying RTI and PAYE rules
* Administering pensions (including two different auto enrolment schemes as well as Local Government pension schemes)
* Handling attachment orders, reference requests, and P11Ds
* Completing Year-End procedures
* Ensuring GDPR compliance and confidentiality of employee information
* Communicating with staff regarding pay queries and calculations
* Other adhoc administration duties as required
About You
To succeed in this role, you will need to demonstrate:
* Minimum 5 years’ payroll experience (essential)
* Strong working knowledge of payroll legislation and compliance
* Excellent time management, organisation, and attention to detail
* Confidence using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook & Office 365
* Ability to work independently and to deadlines with minimal supervision
* Clear and professional communication, both written and verbal
* A flexible, team-oriented attitude and a proactive mindset
* Local to Northfleet, Kent
Experience with Pegasus Opera 3 is an advantage, but we’re happy to provide training for the right candidate with strong payroll knowledge.
