C£45k Basic doe * 9 day working fortnight (weekdays) * Growing established company * Leading specialist manufacturer with global presence On behalf of our client, an award winning manufacturer, we are recruiting for a motivated and enthusiastic Electrical Design Engineer to join their busy Technical Department. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, capable of developing new ideas from Concept through to production. The Job Role; * Designing products from concept through to production release to a given specification, agreed timescales and to company Quality Management System (QMS) * Work within a multi-disciplined development team environment and use your own initiative to achieve the project requirements * Electrical schematic layout designs * Generate detailed technical documentation (Drawings, BOMs, manuals, etc.) * Generate comprehensive component specifications and designs * Reduce product costs by re-designing existing products * Assist production/service engineers when requested * Collaborate fully with production engineering on new product launch. * Design testing criteria * Produce ECN’s for design updates or changes Educated to Minimum HNC qualification in an Electrical Engineering discipline, and along with a strong design background, ideally you will have the following skills and experience; * Proven previous electrical design experience in a manufacturing environment * Fully competent to read and interpret electrical drawings/schematics and produce electrical design calculations * The ability and willingness to work ‘hands on’ to assist fault finding on electrical systems * Working industry knowledge of Electrical Design Software with the ability to create/edit electrical schematics and produce BOMs * Understanding & knowledge of PLC systems * Excellent communication and problem-solving skills while working with other departments * A highly motivated individual with excellent communication skills, and the ability to work alone and as part of a team This is a fantastic career opportunity to join an award winning company who are on a continuous growth cycle.
