Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children, particularly those with special needs, including autism and other disabilities. This role involves supporting teachers in delivering high-quality education and providing individualised assistance to students, ensuring they thrive in a nurturing environment.
Responsibilities
* Assist the lead teacher in planning and implementing lessons tailored to the needs of students, particularly those with autism and other disabilities.
* Provide one-on-one support to students during lessons and activities, fostering their learning and development.
* Help create an inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation from all students.
* Support students with personal care needs, including toddler care when necessary.
* Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to monitor student progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
* Maintain clear communication with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student needs and progress.
* Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills in special education and teaching methodologies.
Qualifications
* Experience working with children, particularly those with disabilities or special educational needs.
* Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff.
* A background in teaching or special education is highly desirable.
* Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting children's learning journeys.
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being proactive in supporting individual student needs.
