Job Title: SEND Geography Teacher
The SEND provision, based in Hexham, supports children and young people aged 10-18. We are looking to appoint a passionate SEND Geography Teacher to teach Key Stage 3 and 4 classes on a full-time basis. Working within a Secondary and Post 16 SEND Alternative Provision as part of an established team, the successful candidate will work with small class sizes, supporting pupils with SEND, including Autism, Learning Disabilities, and SEMH. This full-time role is long-term from September 2024, with the possibility of permanence for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver engaging Geography lessons to KS3 and KS4 pupils.
* Amend existing schemes of work to meet pupils' needs, with autonomy.
* Support pupils with complex SEND needs, including Autism, Learning Disabilities, and SEMH.
Requirements
* Experience working with primary or secondary school-aged children.
* Experience supporting pupils with SEND and challenging behaviour.
* Passion for the progress of SEND pupils.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS).
