Overview
The Intermediate Community Therapy Team (ICT) is looking to recruit Rehabilitation Support Workers (RSW) into ICT on a relief basis. The team supports discharges from hospital, prevents admissions to hospital and provides rehabilitation in patients/service users’ own homes, thereby regaining independence. The team works closely with colleagues in Health and Social services and the voluntary sector.
The Post
The RSW will provide, with guidance, a highly varied range of support across therapy disciplines. The successful applicant will:
* Have a minimum of 2 years experience working directly with patients/service users in the Health and Social care setting
* Be able to work single-handedly and as part of a team
* Hold a SVQ III in Health and Social care, HNC or equivalent
* Have proven verbal and written communication skills
* Be willing to embrace the rehabilitation/re-enablement ethos and undertake further training and education as required
It is essential that the post holder has access to transport; if driving themselves, they should hold a full driving licence. If by reason of disability the applicant can perform the post but cannot drive, adjustments to arrange transport will be considered.
Location, Working Pattern and Contract
The ICT provides a seven-day service and the RSW must be willing to work shifts across the seven days and have use of their own vehicle for community visits. This post will be based at The Balfour. The successful candidate will work on a Relief basis. This post is on a Relief basis. It is a condition of employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NHS Orkney.

The salary for this post is on a Band 4 £30,353 - £33,016 and if residing on Orkney, you’ll also receive a Distant Islands Allowance of £1,654 pro rata per year, adding extra value to your rewarding career with us.
