Job Description
The Specification Technologist will be a key part of our growing Technical team, working from our purpose-built production facility in Middlesbrough. The successful candidate will provide support in driving continuous improvement and provide guidance to onsite teams with adherence to relevant standards, company policies and legal requirements. What you will do: Stay updated on and interpret legislative food safety and packaging regulations to ensure that our food-to-go products meet all relevant regulatory requirements, including labelling, packaging, and nutritional informationReview and analyse technical specifications related to food production processes and packagingDevelop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including technical specifications, product safety data and compliance certificatesReact to customer and internal queries relating to product packaging componentsWork closely with product development, quality assurance, procurement, and production teams to integrate compliance considerations into the entire food manufacturing processProvide guidance on compliance requirements to relevant teams and assist with ingredient and product queriesSupport the technical team with specification, artwork, and cutter guide completionAbout you: Previous experience in a similar role within the food manufacturing industry is essentialIn-depth knowledge of food packing regulations and standardsExperience of retailer specifications and systems, along with retailer artworkExperience of managing the process of artwork approvalExperience of liaising with external customers and stakeholdersStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAttention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentTPBN1_UKTJ
