Responsible for all Engineering and Maintenance functions of Terminals, Depots, and other industrial sites in the Northern Region of the Certas Energy Energy Solutions Estate. Demonstrate commitment to legal compliance and industry best practices to authorities and stakeholders. Act as the Electrically Competent Duty Holder under the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989.
Support engineering activities across the Certas Energy group, ensuring compliance with standards, regulations, and legislation. Collaborate with partners and third-party businesses to improve facilities or scope projects.
1. Manage a team of Engineering Business Partners and Technicians, including line management responsibilities.
2. Identify improvements, oversee design, construction, modification, and commissioning of assets to enhance safety, operational efficiency, and engineering processes.
3. Develop technical scopes of work for capital projects with Project Engineers, overseeing design, installation, and commissioning.
4. Maintain operation of all EC&I Control Systems at sites.
5. Ensure inspections are carried out per legislation, and report non-conformances.
6. Manage a Computerised Maintenance Management System for all assets.
7. Determine maintenance, inspection, and testing intervals, applying RBI where appropriate.
8. Develop relationships across the organization to improve engineering and operational performance.
9. Interpret and implement legislation directives such as ATEX, DSEAR, Pressure Systems Regulations, and others.
10. Ensure safe work systems evolve through technological innovation.
11. Communicate effectively to ensure safe, efficient site operations.
12. Maintain records of engineering and maintenance activities.
13. Oversee maintenance of plant and equipment.
14. Ensure work complies with safety standards, and manage critical spares for safety-critical systems.
15. Develop and review engineering and maintenance policies, especially for EC&I functions.
16. Manage safety/environmental critical equipment in line with MAH/MATTE scenarios and regulations.
17. Handle engineering aspects of Management of Change processes.
18. Prepare for and attend authority intervention visits, managing related actions.
19. Participate in projects such as acquisitions or third-party site developments.
20. Support contractor management, audits, and gap analysis.
21. Manage budgets related to engineering and maintenance activities.
Qualifications/Experience Required:
* Extensive Process Engineering experience, preferably in Oil & Gas downstream.
* Experience managing maintenance and project budgets.
* Degree or equivalent in an Engineering discipline, preferably Electrical & Control Instrumentation.
* Membership of an accredited management or engineering body.
* Understanding of high hazard process industry and regulations like COMAH.
* Qualified to provide and assess training; knowledge of Process Safety.

* Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
* Strong planning and organizational skills.
