The role
The General Manager will be responsible for leading and managing all operational aspects of the business, ensuring efficiency, profitability, and sustainable growth. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this role will require the ability to engage with cross-functional teams, implement strategic initiatives, and build strong relationships with key stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a hands-on management style, a strong commercial acumen, and a passion for continuous learning.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business management, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Eager to learn and understand the technical aspects of the product range to support informed decision-making.
- Proven experience in a senior management role, specifically within the electrical sector or a closely related industry. Applicants will also be considered if they have project management and management skills from working with large construction businesses.
- Demonstrated capability to leverage industry expertise for driving growth and innovation in operational processes and market strategy.
- Strong understanding of sales and marketing dynamics, particularly in B2B environments and ideally within the electrical wholesaler market.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and drive teams towards common objectives.
- Excellent understanding of operational processes, supply chain management, and financial principles.
- Experience in managing change and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills, commercial acumen, and strategic thinking.
- Experience in international supply chain management, including engagement with manufacturers in the Far East.
- Willingness to travel internationally to ensure operational excellence and supplier collaboration
