We are seeking a reliable and proactive Facilities Assistant to support the smooth running, safety, and maintenance of a school site.
This is a 52‑week position, working a split shift (07:00-13:15 / 16:00-17:45), Monday to Friday (37.5 hours per week).
This role is vital in ensuring a clean, safe, and well‑managed environment for staff, pupils, visitors, and the wider community. It requires someone hands‑on, organised, and confident working independently.
Key Responsibilities
Daily site security, unlocking/locking and acting as a key holder
Routine maintenance, basic repairs, and grounds support
Monitoring energy use and maintaining heating/plant equipment
Managing cleaners and ensuring high standards of cleanliness
Overseeing contractors and ensuring compliance checks are completed
Supporting lettings and ensuring facilities are ready for use
Health & safety checks, risk assessments, and maintaining records
About You
Skilled in basic maintenance, repairs and site management
Knowledge of health & safety and site security
Strong communication and organisational skills
Physically able to handle equipment and manual tasks
Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently
Experience supervising cleaners or contractors
