The Role
We are looking to recruit 2 Lecturers in Carpentry at our Rainham Campus. One role is full time and the other is part time (0.6 FTE).
We seek industry professionals interested in transitioning into education, either full-time or as a dual professional. This role offers 52 days of holiday and full funding for a Level 5 Certificate in Education. The college will support you in completing your teaching qualification, which is essential for this role.

Who You Are
We are seeking an industry professional with excellent communication and organizational skills. The ideal candidate will be highly flexible, capable of engaging and inspiring learners aged 16-19 in both practical and theoretical Carpentry. The candidate should have a proven ability to deliver high-quality teaching or a strong desire to develop these skills. Industry expertise in Carpentry and a Level 3 qualification are essential, with a good understanding of current Carpentry practices being desirable.
Key Skills And Experience
We want passionate industry professionals to join our team and inspire future Carpentry experts. Experience in delivering high-quality teaching or significant industry experience is preferred. Candidates must hold a Level 3 qualification in Carpentry and have industry expertise. While teaching experience is desirable, it is not mandatory as training and support are provided. Candidates should also be committed to obtaining a Level 5 Certificate in Education. An assessors qualification would be a plus.
Key Responsibilities
* Teach and assess a range of courses from Level 1 to Level 3, including college-based qualifications and apprenticeships, for 16-18s and adult learners.
* Work effectively within a dynamic team, liaising with the Senior Curriculum Manager and colleagues.
* Engage in professional development related to your industry and teaching/assessing roles.
