Role - Court of Protection Solicitor (Health & Welfare)
HAB Law is expanding its specialist Court of Protection (Health & Welfare) team due to continued growth and increasing demand. We are now seeking an experienced Court of Protection Solicitor (1+ years PQE) to join us at a pivotal moment.

THE OPPORTUNITY
This is a varied, intellectually stimulating, and deeply meaningful role within a growing specialist team. You will manage your own Health & Welfare Court of Protection caseload, with the support of experienced colleagues and clear development pathways.
Your work will include:
• Applications under s.16 and s.21A Mental Capacity Act 2005
• Deputyship matters and Lasting Powers of Attorney
• Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) cases
• Regular instruction and liaison with the Official Solicitor
• Managing legal aid funded matters
• Supporting, mentoring, and developing junior team members
• Contributing to the ongoing growth and leadership of the department

You are a capable, compassionate solicitor who cares deeply about protecting the rights of vulnerable individuals and is ready to make a tangible impact in a busy and rewarding area of law.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
• Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with 1+ years PQE in Court of Protection
• Solid experience in Health & Welfare matters
• Experience handling legal aid funded cases
• Confident managing your own caseload with minimal supervision
• Strong drafting, advocacy, and client communication skills
• Familiarity with CCMS and legal aid processes (preferred)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
