Are you a passionate Learning support assistant looking to make a real difference in Education?
We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Learning support assistant to join a supportive and inclusive mainstream secondary school in Thurrock, supporting students with additional needs.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Learning support assistant, you will be required (but not limited) to:
Support pupils, to ensure they are engaged in learning activities
Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all students within the classroom
Act as a role model, setting high expectations of conduct and promoting positive pupil behaviour
Create a safe and inclusive learning environment
Provide feedback to the classroom teacher on the pupil’s progress against lesson plans, the conduct of the lesson and keeping pupil-related records
Deal with any immediate problems or emergencies according to the school’s policies and procedures about health & safety, welfare and wellbeing and safeguarding
Provide additional support to the teachers in the classrooms
Establish positive relationships with the pupils in lessons being covered
What We're Looking For:
A passion for supporting students with additional needs
Prior experience supporting SEND pupils would be preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Patience, empathy, and adaptability
A commitment to inclusion and the values of the school
