Head of IT – Technology Leadership – Birmingham Based – Hybrid Working – Stakeholder Management – Team Leadership – Broad Technical Understanding – Permanent – circa £90-110k plus benefits
Within a Birmingham‑based professional services business, the Head of Digital Innovation will oversee the technology landscape, integrating leadership of core IT Infrastructure, Data, Business Applications and IT Security teams, some of which are managed by 3rd parties.
Responsibilities include:
* Review the current state of the technology function, merge disparate teams, and develop a strategic roadmap of innovation to drive adoption and success across the business.
* Leverage a fundamental understanding of technology, particularly Microsoft systems and cloud technology, and translate capabilities, limitations and costs into business strategy.
* Lead Data teams, with an emphasis on Data Governance.
* Conduct a top‑to‑bottom review of Business Applications, identify what has performed well and determine required changes across the application estate.
* Manage vendor relationships for 3rd‑party‑led Cyber Security and application functions, building strong external partnerships.
* Control the technology budget, including Capex and Opex, to deliver first‑class service to the business.
* Explore new technologies, such as AI, to identify potential business benefits.
Qualifications and experience required:
* Data‑driven leadership experience in multi‑stakeholder, board‑level environments.
* Proven partnership model engagement with board‑level stakeholders.
* Hands‑on experience managing IT teams and leading technology strategy.
* Strong vendor management skills, especially with external partners.
* Track record delivering technology innovation and change.
