Spire Bushey has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Pharmacy Technician to join our team in the Pharmacy Department on a Bank Basis.
Duties and responsibilities
* Provide an exemplary specialist technical service to support the pharmacy department and other hospital areas that stock medicines, working within your competence and in accordance with current legislation, professional standards, and Spire Healthcare policies.
* Contribute to the safe and effective use of medicines, ensuring cost efficiency.
* Assist in delivering pharmaceutical care to meet patients' health and wellbeing needs.
* Assist in assessing people's health within the context of their medicines.
* Manage the movement and stock of medicines.
* Establish and maintain communication about pharmacy activities and medicines.
* Modify and structure data, information, and records related to stock management.
* Develop your knowledge and skills, and contribute to the development of others.
* Participate in the development and implementation of pharmacy services.
* Maintain health, safety, and security for yourself and others.
* Contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
* Promote equality, diversity, and rights.
* Recognize the risk of Healthcare Associated Infections (HCAI) and understand your responsibility in prevention and control, as agreed with your line manager.
Who we're looking for
* Qualification: B. Tech National Certificate in Pharmaceutical Sciences, City & Guilds Dispensing Technicians Certificate, Scottish/NVQ Level 3 in pharmacy services, or equivalent.
* Experience in a pharmaceutical department.
* Experience with administrative duties such as data checking and charging.
* Competent in pharmaceutical activities with theoretical knowledge.
* Numeracy skills.
* Mandatory training in infection control and health and safety.
* Equipment and Medical Devices Competences.
* Ongoing professional development in pharmaceutical activities.
* Proficiency in MS Office and relevant packages like stock control, charging, and labelling.
* Understanding of accountable practice principles.
* Interest in current pharmaceutical developments.
* Data processing skills.
* English language proficiency at IELTS 7.0.
