Stroke Research Trainee

Contract Type: Fixed‑term (12 months)
Purpose: Training Contract – structured training and supervised clinical development.
Responsibilities
* Screen and recruit patients into clinical trials; act as an associate principal investigator; write review articles and perform quality improvement initiatives.
* Assist with quality improvement, audits and submit/delegate abstracts and posters for national and international conferences.
* Work on ward‑based assessment and emergency management of neurology and neurosurgical inpatients, including acute admissions for thrombolysis and mechanical thrombectomy.
Qualifications & Experience
Completed Foundation training with proven ability to manage acute medical emergencies; interest and experience in neurology and/or stroke medicine. The role offers structured learning aligned to the relevant specialty training curriculum and opportunities to support community and out‑of‑hours call duties.
