This role will support the Council in the management of its property portfolio. The role will ensure that properties are appropriately managed with occupations and use being authorised and documented, rents paid and service charges collected. The role will carry out asset inspections to ensure they remain fit for purpose, record and report any maintenance issues and take meter reads.
The role will support the service in general estate management functions, negotiating wayleaves, access licences, event licences, encroachments, boundary disputes and small land disposals. The role will support enquiries into the Council on its assets, including ownership and occupation.
The role will support the service landlord and tenant functions such as assignments, sub-lettings, consents relating to user and alterations. They will help with service charge management, insurance and rent charges.
The role will support the Council in maintaining its property information data, to facilitate good property management.

The Council's Property Service is looking for someone with some experience of working in property management, or a graduate seeking to gain experience and work towards their RICS qualification.
The candidate will be joining a team that is working in the corporate centre of the Council supporting in the effective delivery of its priorities. They will work with internal colleagues and those external to the Council for example our tenants. The Council has an extensive asset portfolio and the candidate will need to be comfortable with managing competing priorities, have skills in customer relations, communication and negotiation.
This role will require an understanding of Landlord and Tenant and general estate management, have knowledge of lease structures and other occupational agreements used within the profession. They will support in activities such as rent reviews, managed service charges, and the practical application of managing occupational liabilities of the tenant and asset ownership responsibilities of the Council.
The candidate will be IT literate with the ability to learn sector specific software such as GIS mapping and property databases, and shall support the Council in the maintenance of its property information.
