We are currently seeking passionate and dedicated Lecturer in Travel, Aviation, and Hospitality to join the vibrant Travel & Tourism department at Sandwell College, based in West Bromwich. This is a part-time (0.4 - 14.8 hours per week, timetable TBC) position available until the end of the 2025/26 academic year. Responsibilities
* Deliver a range of Travel and Tourism subjects across Levels 1 to 3, aligned with the college’s curriculum objectives
* Collaborate with management, colleagues, and students to support success and positive outcomes
* Use strong communication skills to build partnerships with internal teams and external stakeholders
* Lead on course tutorship, sharing industry knowledge and expertise
* Arrange and support work experience placements to enhance student employability
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
* Experience in the Travel and/or Tourism sector
* Ability to engage, inspire, and support learners of mixed abilities
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Willingness to participate in residentials and enrichment trips
* Academic background in Travel, Tourism, or Aviation (desirable)
* Recognised teaching qualification at Level 5 or above (or willingness to work towards)
* Passionate about education and committed to inspiring student success
Teaching Qualifications & Salary Banding
To be eligible for our Qualified Lecturer salary banding (£30,583 - £46,263), you must hold one of the following teaching qualifications:
Accepted Qualifications:
DTTLS (Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
Certificate in Education
PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education)
DET (Diploma in Education and Training)
DiT (Diploma in Teaching) – if for a vocational subject
If you do not hold one of the above qualifications, you will fall into our Unqualified Lecturer salary banding (£25,611 - £28,817).
Not Accepted as Stand Alone Qualifications:
PTLLS (Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
CTLLS (Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults)
