Join us at the forefront of public health advocacy as the Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) Alliance Scotland Lead. This is a unique opportunity to lead and shape the strategic direction of our efforts to combat non-communicable diseases in Scotland. You will work closely with NCD Alliance Scotland members as well as government bodies, politicians, academics and third sector partners to drive impactful policy changes.

About the role
As our NCD Alliance Scotland Lead, you'll work closely with the Chair of NCD Alliance Scotland and Alliance members. You'll be responsible for leading all Alliance activity, spanning policy development, public affairs and communications to ensure effective evidence-based policy in commercial determinants of health is forefront of on the political agenda.
Your role will involve extensive collaboration with stakeholders, managing budgets, and ensuring the effective delivery of Alliance advocacy initiatives. You will also represent the Alliance at high-level meetings and events, advocating for policies that support the prevention and control of NCDs.
With the impending Scottish Parliament election, this role will be instrumental in ensuring the momentum on public health is maintained and remains high on the political agenda.
About you
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced leader with a strong background in public health, policy, and advocacy. You should have a proven track record of working with diverse stakeholders and influencing policy at a national level.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as you'll be leading NCD Alliance Scotland with its 24 member organisations and building relationships with key partners. You should be highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.

Working arrangements
Please note this is a fixed term contract for three years.
This is a blended role, where your work will be dual located between your home and BHF Scotland's Edinburgh office.
The work will require some evening and weekend work as well as travel that may require overnight stays. There will also be an opportunity to visit BHF offices in Belfast, Cardiff and London.
At BHF we believe in the power of being together, so our colleagues on blended contracts can expect to spend some time in their office, at least one day each week, on average. The use of our office spaces is driven in part by your role and the activities you need to do. This may vary from time to time, so you will need to work in a flexible way to unlock your best work for our cause.
