GSL Education are offering an exciting opportunity for recent graduates to work as Teaching Assistants in schools across Hailsham. This role is ideal for anyone who is passionate about child development, mental health, or education and wants to build a career in teaching, educational psychology, or special educational needs (SEN).
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Teaching Assistant (TA), you’ll play a key role in supporting students and teachers in the classroom. You’ll help children with their learning, provide emotional support, and create a positive and inclusive environment where every child can thrive.
Your Daily Responsibilities as a Teaching Assistant (TA) Will Include:
* Supporting teachers during lessons and helping students stay engaged.
* Working one-on-one or in small groups with children who need extra help.
* Assisting children with special educational needs or emotional challenges.
* Encouraging positive behaviour and helping students build confidence.
* Helping with classroom organisation and preparing learning materials.
* Supporting students’ social and emotional development.
* Communicating with teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure every child gets the help they need.
Who We’re Looking For
* Graduates with a degree in Psychology, Education, or a related subject.
* People who have experience working with children or young people (in schools, clubs, care settings, etc.).
* Individuals who are patient, caring, and passionate about helping others.
* Strong communicators who enjoy working as part of a team.
* Those who are eager to learn and grow in a school environment.
* Any additional training (like safeguarding or SEN) is a plus, but not required.
