First Military Recruitment is currently seeking an Automation Technician on behalf of one of our clients.

Duties and Responsibilities for the Automation Technician:
1. Designing PLC-based electrical control systems from design specifications.
2. Programming PLCs, touchscreens, and safety-configurable relay systems.
3. Configuring remote I/O, servo motors, and inverter drives.
4. Integrating ancillary equipment into production lines, such as vision systems.
5. Fault finding in electrical control systems, PLCs, and hardwired systems.
6. Commissioning, support, and service work at customers’ sites.
7. A certain amount of travel is required to support a worldwide customer base.
8. Training will be provided to familiarize the successful applicant with the machinery and equipment used.
9. The successful applicant will be eligible for a pension scheme and other benefits.
10. Salary will be commensurate with position and qualifications.
11. The role involves working with electricians and panel builders to design, build, program, and commission control systems and machines at the factory and on-site.
Skills and Qualifications:
1. A good understanding of electrical drawings, control panel design, PLC programming, touchscreens, and controls.
2. Knowledge of vision and SCADA systems.
3. Experience in the pharma industry and/or explosive atmosphere regulations is desirable.
