Responsibilities
Description of Role
The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for planning, organising, managing, and executing infrastructure and technology projects. The primary objective is to ensure projects are completed efficiently, within budget, and on time. The PM oversees all project aspects from initiation to closure and acts as the main contact for stakeholders, team members, and clients.
Key Responsibilities:
* Project Planning and Initiation: Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables; develop plans, timelines, and schedules; identify resources; conduct kick-off meetings.
* Resource Management: Allocate resources effectively; coordinate with managers; monitor resource utilization.
* Risk Management: Identify risks; develop mitigation plans; monitor risks throughout the project.
* Communication and Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary communication point; facilitate effective communication; provide regular updates.
* Quality Assurance: Set quality standards; monitor progress; conduct quality reviews.
* Budget and Cost Management: Develop budgets; monitor expenditures; identify cost-saving opportunities.
* Change Management: Manage scope and schedule changes; assess impacts; communicate and obtain approvals.
* Team Leadership and Motivation: Lead and motivate project teams; set expectations; foster collaboration.
* Closure and Evaluation: Ensure project completion; conduct reviews; document lessons learned.
Qualifications
Required knowledge, skills, and experience include:
* Over 10 years of demonstrable experience in structured cabling infrastructure and technology project delivery. Certifications like APM, PMP, or PRINCE2 are advantageous.
* Proven experience managing projects of various complexities across sectors.
* Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Proficiency with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, or Asana.
* Understanding of project management methodologies like Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid.
* Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
* Analytical problem-solving abilities.
* Knowledge of risk, quality assurance, and change management principles.
* Adaptability and resilience.
* Commitment to continuous professional development.
