Course Summary
This T Level in Legal Services is a two-year technical study programme, designed with employers to give young people the skills that the Legal Services industry needs.
The T Level Legal Services will provide a mixture of technical knowledge and skills as well as a relevant industry placement. The Technical Qualification in Legal Services will give you the industry knowledge and skills required to work in the legal services sector. It will provide you with an up-to-date qualification within an everchanging industry and enhance your employability within a dynamic market.
On completion of the T Level in Legal Services, students will be able to choose between moving into a skilled occupation such as a Paralegal or Legal Secretary or to go into further and higher professional or academic study, for example, a higher degree level Paralegal Apprenticeship, or higher-level technical study including the study of Law in higher education.
Course Details
Year 1 is made up of two key parts:
1. Core: Knowledge and understanding of Regulations, Professionalism and Ethics, Fundamentals of Law, Security and Risk, The Business Environment, Research Skills and Professional Services
2. Employer Set Project: A project set by legal professionals that requires you to apply your knowledge to a real-life problem in the industry
Year 2 is made up of the occupational specialism:
You will specialise in Crime, Criminal Justice and Social Welfare
The purpose of this specialism is for learners to develop the knowledge, understanding and skills within a criminal and social welfare role. The specialism is designed to provide opportunity for learners to develop their ability to support criminal law, through a range of techniques including use of research skills, problem solving and project management. Content will be delivered to include legal processes in relation to police powers, the criminal justice system and legal problems in relation to theft.
Throughout the 2 years you will complete the Industry Placement: where you will get the opportunity to put the knowledge and skills you have learned in to action. Across year one and two, you will complete at least (315 hours) 45 days in total working in the legal industry, giving you valuable experience in the workplace and employers the chance to see the new talent in their industry.

We want you to achieve to the very best of your ability at CRC. To make this happen we offer both learning and personal support by specialist staff tailored to meet your specific needs.
Year 1:
Core Assessment: Externally Set Test – Paper 1 and Paper 2 are both graded A*-E.
Employer Set Project: Externally assessed project work is graded A*-E.
Industry Placement: Evidence log to show completion of hours required and evidence of development of technical skills and application of knowledge in a workplace environment.
Year 2:
Synoptic assessment to judge how well the competence requirements have been met. Graded: Distinction, Merit or Pass.

Entry requirements
5 GCSE’s at Grade 4 or above including English and Maths
In addition to the entry qualifications listed, the offer of a place on the course is subject to the outcomes of initial assessment, which will be taken at the College as part of the admissions process. Please note that entry criteria may vary quite significantly between courses at the same level. This is to take account of the specific skills needed for success on particular courses, the length of the course and the requirements for progression to the next level. Entry criteria are given as a guide, and the exact requirements in order to obtain a place on a particular course will be confirmed following attendance at a Welcome Event/Interview.
