Overview
We have a Dermatology opportunity in Grimsby seeking a consultant dermatologist to join our friendly Community Dermatology service, recently rated 'Good' by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
Duties will be based primarily between Cromwell Road (Grimsby) and Ironstone Health Centre (Scunthorpe) sites, delivering full secondary care to patients across our sites.

About the Service
We are a Community Dermatology Service providing dermatology care for North and Northeast Lincolnshire. We offer a wide range of dermatology services including General Dermatology, Patch Testing, Biologics, Phototherapy and a weekly Local Skin MDT.
This role is a full or part-time post. The post holder will undertake new and follow-up consultations of patients referred to the dermatology service by GPs in accordance with guidance from the consultant clinical lead. This includes diagnosing the full range of dermatology conditions from both two-week-wait cancer and general dermatology clinics and initiating and maintaining medical and surgical treatments to a high standard of care.
Responsibilities
* Undertake new and follow-up consultations with thorough assessment of medical condition, patient concerns and expectations. Enter full details of history, findings, diagnosis and treatment plans into the electronic clinical system.
* Follow care pathways for common skin problems as recommended by national guidance.
* Provide treatment only for presenting complaint in accordance with the dermatology formulary and prescribing restrictions.
* Offer treatments or surgical procedures in scope with the head contract, avoiding procedures that are excluded.
* Ensure patients or carers are fully informed; answer questions about treatment and provide written information if required.
* Maintain up-to-date records and dictate letters to the patient’s GP at the time of consultation; review and amend letters as necessary within an appropriate timescale.
* Undertake appropriate surgical procedures only after training and direct observation to ensure sign-off/competency.
* Order appropriate investigations and ensure pathology forms are filed correctly.
* Take responsibility for seeing and acting on all results, updating the GP and patient as needed.
* Work with all team members to deliver a high-quality, patient-centered service.
* Participate in audit and evaluation.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Full GMC Registration, specialist registration
* A Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Dermatology or within 6 months of the CCT date
* Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR)
* Specialty Certificate Examination in Dermatology (MRCP Dermatology)
* UK permit or right to work in the UK
* Commitment to professional development
* Knowledge of the NHS
* Understanding of evidence-based practice and clinical effectiveness
* Understanding of Clinical Governance and quality issues, and health and social policy
* Ability to take clear, concise medical notes (computerized and manual)
* Experience with Microsoft Office
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Desirable: previous management or supervisory experience; interest in developing additional clinical skills; ability to perform minor surgical procedures; experience with clinical systems.
