Junior Project Manager

You will be working directly under the guidance of directors who bring a distinctive, client-focused, and quality-driven approach to the construction industry. Gallery's ethos is centred on attention to detail, exceptional standards, and a commitment to excellence.
The role spans the entire lifecycle of projects, from pre-construction through to handover. You'll be involved in refurbishment projects ranging from £100,000 to over £3 million, as well as our fast-growing maintenance and aftercare division. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work across diverse project scopes, engage with subcontractors, review drawings, establish work packages, assist with programming, and contribute to valuations and variations post-contract.
We're looking for someone eager to learn, passionate about quality delivery, and committed to maintaining the highest standards. Most projects are based in London, with occasional travel to nearby areas. Our main office is located in Beckenham.
Roles and Responsibilities
* Life-cycle Project Management – from inception, tender, construction through to handover and beyond
* Liaise with the team to identify and select suitable subcontractors.
* Finalize accounts with subcontractors, accounting for any relevant deductions or additions.
* Prepare valuations for each project and submit them for director approval.
* Manage the transition of projects from large-scale refurbishment completion through snagging and into aftercare/maintenance services.
* Oversee and control variations on site, ensuring accurate tracking and reporting.
* Provide financial reporting and analysis for management when required.
* Manage Contractor Design Packages – from basements, steel frame to MEP packages including AC, bespoke joinery and natural stone packages
* Conduct site visits, taking measurements or re-measurements as necessary.
* Attend site and design team meetings to support project progress.
* Monitor project progress to ensure the highest quality standards are upheld.
* Address and resolve problems proactively, both internally and externally.
* Assist in Business Development and Marketing Activites
* Participate in further training and qualification opportunities as needed.
Essential Requirements
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Minimum of 3 years of construction management experience.
* Experience in the Prime Residential Market Advantageous
* Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
* A hardworking mindset and keen attention to detail.
