The Housing & A Fairer Stockton-on-Tees service are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, innovative, and self-motivated individual to join the Selective Licensing team to help regulate management practices and tackle anti-social behaviour and environmental crime associated with particular areas of the borough designated for selective licensing.
The team is committed to protecting residents, ensuring everyone can live in a safe environment. We work positively with responsible landlords and take strong enforcement action against neglectful ones, utilizing legislation effectively.
The role focuses on investigating reports of anti-social behaviour, environmental crime, and community safety issues related to licensed private rented properties.
Applicants should ideally demonstrate:
* Experience working with anti-social behaviour and nuisance complaints within enforcement or licensing environments.
* Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and codes of practice for enforcement related to anti-social behaviour and environmental crime.
* Practical knowledge of investigative and enforcement work.
* Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with diverse audiences.
Knowledge of tenancy management and landlord-tenant relations is desirable but not essential.
Two fixed-term posts are available: one for 48 months until 31st October 2028, and another for 54 months until 31st March 2029.
