About the role: The role of Application Specialist provides support, maintenance and development of business applications across multiple service areas within the council. The successful applicant will work with users, suppliers and colleagues to resolve problems and incidents, support system improvements, plan upgrades, and contribute to service performance. About you: A strong interest in technology Effective communication skills, particularly in an ICT environment Good problem solving skills The ability to manage a varied job load in an organised way A passion for supporting and helping users The motivation to use initiative whilst knowing when to ask for help What you will do: Provide support and advice for users on a variety of application across service areas with a particular interest in schools MIS, web filtering, SharePoint and other Microsoft products, whilst working to agreed service levels Be an effective communicator and problem solver for people with a varied understanding of technologies Support system changes, upgrades, and improvements This position has a requirement for a Standard DBS Check.
