We are currently working with a long-established and highly respected Galway-based building contractor who is seeking to hire an experienced Site Engineer for a high-profile construction project in Co. Galway.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a progressive company involved in delivering complex commercial, industrial, and high-spec fit-out projects.
The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years’ experience, strong technical knowledge, and be confident in setting out and managing day-to-day engineering functions on a busy site.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Site Manager/Project Manager with the coordination and management of daily site operations.
Liaise with design and consultancy teams to resolve technical issues and manage the RFI and submittal process.
Ensure accurate control and distribution of technical information throughout the site team.
Carry out setting out duties using Total Station, Dumpy Level, and Laser Level.
Maintain daily site records, including diaries, logs, and progress reports.
Monitor site H&S compliance, carry out inductions, and promote a safe working environment.
Manage materials, plant requisitions, and coordinate subcontractor activities.
Ensure high standards of quality control, including BCAR compliance and relevant inspections.
Oversee concrete works including slump tests, cube sampling, and accurate recording.
Requirements:
Degree or Diploma in Civil/Structural Engineering or Construction Management.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably with a main contractor.
Proven experience in setting out using modern surveying equipment.
Strong knowledge of CAD software.
Experience on commercial, industrial, or fitout building projects.
Excellent communication skills and a strong team-player ethos.
A proactive, self-motivated approach with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
Full clean driver’s licence required.
