GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher to join our team at our esteemed autism special school in Sheffield. you can make an immediate impact and become an integral part of our vibrant community.
Role of a SEN teacher:
* SEN teacher provides tailored support to students with special educational needs and mental health concerns. They work closely with teachers and other professionals to implement strategies outlined in education, health, and care plans.
* SEN teacher offers emotional support to students with mental health needs, helping them manage emotions, develop coping strategies, and build resilience. They provide a supportive and nurturing environment where students feel valued, understood, and encouraged to express themselves.
* In situations where students experience mental health crises or emotional distress, SEN teacher may provide immediate support and assistance.
* SEN teacher engages in ongoing professional development to enhance their knowledge and skills in supporting students with special educational needs and mental health concerns. They may receive training in areas such as autism awareness, mental health first aid, trauma-informed practice, and behavior management strategies.
The successful candidate will:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience working with children with autism or SEN.
* A genuine passion for working with children with autism and a commitment to their holistic development.
* Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
* Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
