Salary and Work Pattern
Salary: Range £38,329.79 per annum
Shift Work:
* Monday to Friday 7am to 3pm
* Sunday to Thursday 11pm to 7am
* Monday to Friday 3pm to 11pm
Job Purpose
As an integral member of the production team, you will be responsible for adhering to all site procedures to ensure the safe and efficient operation of packing lines. Your role involves manufacturing sugar products that meet quality standards and customer expectations, managing operational performance, resolving issues, ensuring safety, and minimizing waste. You will operate equipment within a 24/5 sugar packaging operation and perform basic engineering tasks (training provided).
Core Accountabilities
* Comply with site and business operational, health, safety, environmental, and food safety procedures.
* Operate a sugar packaging line, including start-up, product testing, and shift-end checks.
* Record operational data accurately.
* Maintain the line according to cleaning and food safety instructions.
* Carry out basic maintenance such as lubrication and part replacement.
* Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
* Meet production plans and customer requirements.
* Escalate issues promptly to the Line Manager.
* Operate CCPs and ensure compliance with checks.
* Demonstrate food safety standards during audits.
* Identify and pursue continuous improvement.
* Perform other site duties as required.
Required Skills, Knowledge & Competencies
Qualifications & Experience
* GCSE Grade C in Maths and English or equivalent.
* Experience in an FMCG environment, preferably in Food Manufacturing.
* Experience operating food packaging machinery.
* Knowledge of HSE and Quality standards.
* Basic maintenance skills, including lubrication and disassembly/reassembly of parts.
* Understanding of Continuous Improvement, HACCP, and GMP.
