Overview
VolkerWessels UK is a market leading contracting group providing integrated solutions for civil engineering and construction across rail, highways, airports, marine, defence, energy, water and environmental infrastructure. We are recruiting for a Finance Clerk to join our Payments and Reconciliation team.
Volker Services and its subsidiaries receive around 15,000 supplier invoices per month. Reporting into our Finance Supervisor (Payments and Reconciliations team), you will create weekly payments for all Volker businesses, provide detailed analysis and payment performance information, and perform monthly reconciliations of high-volume supplier accounts with monitoring of balances and aging items to ensure timely resolution.
Responsibilities
* Receive and resolve high volumes of supplier queries by telephone and email
* Reconcile high volumes of supplier statements
* Perform data integrity checks of data entered for the payment process
* Process emergency payments, weekly and daily payment runs and expenses
* Distribute payment run files to business units for approval
* Deal with internal and external queries and resolve disputed invoices promptly
About you / Qualifications
* Previous Accounts Payable experience across reconciliations
* Excellent written and verbal communications skills with strong customer service and the ability to manage multiple priorities to meet deadlines
* Demonstrable Excel skills (intermediate), e.g., VLOOKUPs, converting PDFs into Excel
* Self-starter with GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English – C grade or above (or equivalent)
