Job Description
East Yorkshire – Hybrid role (factory, client site & home working)
£60,000 – £80,000 + Company Car or Allowance + Bonus + Benefits
Are you a technically minded leader with deep experience in Light Gauge Steel Framing (LGSF) or SFS systems?
This is a rare opportunity to build a new division from the ground up, shaping product development, accreditation, and go-to-market strategy for a leading UK steel fabrication and manufacturing business.
The Opportunity
You'll take full ownership of developing and launching a load-bearing wall framing system that complements an already established steel fabrication operation.
Over a 12-month roadmap, you'll deliver all required certifications, build a capable in-house design and estimating function, and position the business as a recognised player in the LGSF market.
Once operational, you'll lead the framing division combining technical, commercial, and strategic oversight across design, estimating, project delivery, and client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
* Product Accreditation & Compliance: Achieve SCI/NHBC certification, oversee fire testing, design literature, and technical documentation.
* Capability Building: Recruit, mentor, and develop internal design and estimating teams to enable scalable project delivery.
* Sales Enablement: Support the wider sales function with technical expertise, helping them confidently promote framing systems to new and existing clients.
* Market Positioning: Drive recognition in both the load-bearing and SFS infill sectors through innovation, performance, and customer engagement.
* Commercial Growth: Establish pricing models, lead bids, and ensure profitable project delivery from tender through to invoice.
Skills & Experience
* Proven background in light gauge steel framing, structural steel, or off-site construction.
* Experience with fire testing, system certification, and design compliance (SCI/NHBC).
* Understanding of estimating and engineering for LGSF/SFS.
* Competent with design tools such as CAD, Bluebeam, or similar.
* Commercial acumen with experience driving technical sales or product development.
* HNC (or above) in Civil or Structural Engineering preferred.
* Full UK driving licence.
What's On Offer
* Salary up to £80,000, depending on experience.
* Company car or allowance, plus annual bonus.
* 25 days holiday + bank holidays.
* Pension scheme (3% employer / 5% employee).
* Flexible hybrid working – combine home, site, and factory presence.
* The chance to create and lead a new product line within an established, well-resourced manufacturer.
