Overview
The purpose of the role is to offer general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, whether in person or via the telephone. Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way. Undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the practice. Facilitate effective communication between patients, members of the primary health care team, secondary care and other associated healthcare agencies.
Responsibilities
Ensure all reception duties and tasks are carried out in an effective and efficient manner in line with the practice guidelines, procedures and protocols.
Ensure both patients and visitors to the surgery receive a high level of customer service.
Undertake general office and reception duties, including working on the front desk and answering calls. Our surgery team consists of 7 GP's, both partners and salaried, Nurse Practitioners and Practice Nurses, Health Care Assistants and a pharmacist. We also welcome other community services into the surgery on a daily basis.
The surgery prides itself on teamwork and teaching, whilst also providing a quality service to an area with a number of social challenges.
Schedule
Part‑time: 24 hours per week – Mondays 8am‑6.30pm, Tuesdays 1pm‑6.30pm, Fridays 8am‑5.00pm. More hours could be available for the right person.
Requirements
Experience of working in a GP Surgery, Primary Care or the NHS would be desirable but not essential as full training will be given. Reliability is a must.
