We are on the lookout for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic Natural Resources, Nuclear & Networks team in Gerrards Cross. You'll be working on the Thames Water framework, contributing to projects that enhance vital public services.
Location & Hours
Location: Gerrards Cross, with a blend of home and office working, plus occasional travel to various sites in the Thames Valley region.
Hours: 45 hours per week – we offer flexibility, so just let us know your preferences when we chat!

Your Responsibilities
As a Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in our commercial team, ensuring cost-effectiveness and regulatory compliance. Your day-to-day tasks will include:
* Conducting timely monthly cost value reconciliations and cashflow monitoring.
* Preparing project budgets and developing cost plans, estimating quantities and costs of materials, time, and labor.
* Understanding and implementing contractual obligations.
* Preparing tender documents, evaluating bids, and selecting contractors while adhering to Thames Water policies.
* Negotiating contract terms with clients and contractors to ensure favorable and equitable agreements.
What We’re Looking For
This role is perfect for you if you possess:
* A degree in quantity surveying, construction management, engineering, or a related field.
* Strong knowledge of the IChemE Burgundy Book and experience in water/wastewater projects.
* Excellent numeracy and financial management skills.
* Experience with standard forms of contracts and cost control processes.
* A good understanding of construction law and project management practices.
* Proficiency in quantity surveying software and standard office applications.
* Experience in coordinating and managing a team.
